Headteacher’s Welcome

 Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome To Central Primary School

Welcome to Central Primary School where children are at the centre of everything we do.  We are a community school where pupils, staff, parents and the wider community can grow and learn.  Our diverse community enables children to celebrate their cultural diversity with over 50 different languages spoken throughout the school.

We are situated right in the heart of Watford in a beautiful Victorian building.  Our school building, opened in 1884, is one of the oldest in Watford and has always been used for the education of children.  The building used to house the grammar schools for boys and girls until their growth saw them move to their current locations.

Our vision is to equip our young people with the skills and knowledge needed to enable them to be lifelong learners who are successful in the 21st century.  We aim to do this by providing challenging, creative, inspiring and fully inclusive learning experiences in which everyone’s needs are considered, diversity is valued and all achievements are celebrated.

As a school, we live by the following values: forgiveness, curiosity, kindness, persistence and hope.   Children learn to understand what these values look like and how we can demonstrate in them throughout our daily interactions, behaviour and curriculum.   We believe that these values will provide a set of skills and attitudes that will prepare our children for the modern world.

It is our role to build on the children’s experiences and provide life enhancing opportunities so our young people become empowered, mindful citizens who are ambitious and strive to succeed.

We look forward to welcoming you to the school.

Kind regards.
